Nevron Chart for SharePoint supports multiple chart areas. Chart areas are added, removed and edited by the Chart Areas Tab of the Chart Major Tab (Chart > Chart Areas). Nevron Chart for SharePoint must have at least one chart area, which is created by default. Each values data grouping is displayed on exactly one chart area - see the Value Data Groupings topic for more information.

Each chart area has a charting type, axes, walls, layout, appearance and 3D effects associated with it. The chart area editor for the currently selected chart area has tabs for each of these chart area elements. For each chart area you can currently choose among the following charting types: Bar, Area, Line, Pie, Point, Bubble, Float Bar, High Low, Stock, Funnel, Polar, Radar and Surface.

     Chart Type

     Axes

When the currently selected charting type uses Cartesian axes, the Axes tab contains the PrimaryY, SecondaryY, PrimaryX, SecondaryX and Depth axes. For Cartesian charting types the charting type also defines the dimension types of the chart. In a Cartesian coordinate system composed of X, Y and Z dimensions a certain dimension can be Numeric, Categorical or One. All Cartesian axes support the Numeric and Categorical scaling mode. The One scaling mode is only supported for the Z dimension and means that only a single depth level is created to display the series of this chart. The documentation for each Cartesian charting type specifies the dimension types. See Cartesian Axes for more information.

When the currently selected charting type uses polar axes, the Axes tab contains the PolarValue and PolarAngle axes. See Polar Axes for more information. Similarly the Radar Axes are displayed when the currently selected charting type uses polar axes.

If the selected charting type has no axes the Axes tab is empty.

     Labels

When the currently selected charting type is Cartesian, Polar or Radar the Labels tab allows you to define some label layout properties applied to all data labels displayed on that chart area. The objective of the label layout feature is to ensure maximum visibility for chart elements by preventing data point labels from overlapping with each other and with the data points themselves. The label layout is performed on three stages that can work independently or in combination. By default all layout stages are disabled. They are activated on a per-chart basis so all data point labels displayed in a given chart are subject to automatic layout.

    Enable Initial Positioning

The first layout stage is called Initial Positioning. It can be enabled by checking the "Enable Initial Positioning" check box. The purpose of Initial Positioning is to select a position for each label from a set of proposed locations situated around the origin point of the label. The control selects the location that causes minimum potential conflicts with other labels locations.

    Remove Overlapping Labels

The second stage removes all labels that overlap each other.

    Label Adjustment

The third stage of the Automatic Data Label Layout is called Label Adjustment. It can be enabled by checking the "Enable Label Adjustment" check box. This stage removes overlaps by shifting overlapping labels apart from each other.

     Walls

When the currently selected charting type uses Cartesian walls, the Walls tab contains the Side, Floor and Back walls. See Cartesian Walls for more information.

When the currently selected charting type uses polar wall, the Walls tab contains a single wall - the polar wall. Analogously the radar wall is displayed when the charting type uses a radar wall. See Polar Wall and Radar Wall for more information.

If the selected charting type has no walls the Walls tab is empty.
