    Axis Grid Lines
    In This Topic

Gridlines appear on the chart walls as lines with controllable color and pattern. There are two types of gridlines:

    – Major grid lines - these gridlines are visualized at the values of the major ticks on the chart walls or the polar radar plot area.

    - Minor grid lines - these gridlines are visualized at the values of the minors ticks on the chart walls or the polar radar plot area.

     Major Grid Lines

Major grid lines can be displayed on the chart walls or the polar/radar plot area.

    Visibility

Depending on the axis type the following options are available:

    - Cartesian Y Axes

    - Show Major At Back - defines whether major grid lines must appear on the back chart wall.

    - Show Major At Side - defines whether major grid lines must appear on the side chart wall. This setting is ignored when the chart is operating in 2D mode.

    - Cartesian X Axis

    - Show Major At Back - defines whether major grid lines must appear on the back chart wall.

    - Show Major At Floor - defines whether major grid lines must appear on the floor chart wall. This setting is ignored when the chart is operating in 2D mode.

    - Cartesian Depth Axis

    - Show Major At Side - defines whether major grid lines must appear on the side chart wall. This setting is ignored when the chart is operating in 2D mode.

    - Show Major At Floor - defines whether major grid lines must appear on the floor chart wall. This setting is ignored when the chart is operating in 2D mode.

    - Polar / Radar Axis

    - Show Major - defines whether major grid lines must appear on the chart polar / radar plot area.

    Major Stroke Style

Invokes the stroke style dialog allowing you to control the stroke settings applied on major grid lines.

     Minor Grid Lines

Minor grid lines can be displayed on the chart walls or the polar/radar plot area. Note that when the axis uses a categorical scale it cannot generate minor grid lines. For numeric scales operating in number mode you must set the "Minor Tick Count" setting to value a value greater than zero.

    Visibility

Depending on the axis type the following options are available:

    - Cartesian Y Axes

    - Show Major At Back - defines whether minor grid lines must appear on the back chart wall.

    - Show Major At Side - defines whether minor grid lines must appear on the side chart wall. This setting is ignored when the chart is operating in 2D mode.

    - Cartesian X Axis

    - Show Major At Back - defines whether minor grid lines must appear on the back chart wall.

    - Show Major At Floor - defines whether minor grid lines must appear on the floor chart wall. This setting is ignored when the chart is operating in 2D mode.

    - Cartesian Depth Axis

    - Show Major At Side - defines whether minor grid lines must appear on the side chart wall. This setting is ignored when the chart is operating in 2D mode.

    - Show Major At Floor - defines whether minor grid lines must appear on the floor chart wall. This setting is ignored when the chart is operating in 2D mode.

    - Polar / Radar Axis

    - Show Major - defines whether minor grid lines must appear on the chart polar / radar plot area.

    Minor Stroke Style

Invokes the stroke style dialog allowing you to control the stroke settings applied on minor grid lines.
